Privacy contact: support@fastfrom.app

Scope

This policy covers the public Fast From app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

The Fast From website privacy policy covers visits to the Fast From website and communications sent to JonWard.IO LLC.

Washington consumers can also read the Fast From Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Fast From records stored on Apple devices

Fast From stores the following records on the user's Apple devices:

  • apps, app categories, and websites selected through Apple's Screen Time controls;
  • one-time and recurring fast schedules;
  • active and completed fast records;
  • the newest 50 fast-history entries;
  • fast dates, times, durations, selected-item counts, outcomes, and extension events;
  • Fast Points, levels, badges, and achievement records;
  • an optional Reason entered by the user;
  • an optional reflection response of Yes, Somewhat, or No;
  • accountability settings and records, including locally generated salt, hash, failed-attempt count, and cooldown timing;
  • notification and app preferences;
  • Apple Watch fast status and related state; and
  • local technical records used to start, stop, reconcile, and display fasts.

Fast-history entries exclude selected app names, app tokens, category names, website names, and website tokens.

Company access and app data transmission

Fast From keeps the records listed above on the user's Apple devices. The public app sends zero Fast From app records to JonWard.IO LLC. JonWard.IO LLC has zero access to those device-local records.

The public app contains zero advertising, developer analytics, cross-app tracking, user accounts, developer telemetry, custom data uploads, or company-operated app-data servers.

How Fast From uses device-local records

Fast From uses device-local records to:

  • start and end fasts requested by the user;
  • apply the user's selected Screen Time restrictions;
  • run recurring schedules;
  • show active-fast status, history, Fast Points, levels, and badges;
  • apply the user's accountability settings;
  • deliver local notifications requested through app settings; and
  • display fast status on Apple Watch.

Apple services

Fast From uses Apple platform services for:

  • Screen Time app, category, and website selection and restriction;
  • App Store distribution and purchases;
  • local notifications;
  • device backups and device transfers;
  • communication between Fast From on iPhone and Apple Watch; and
  • the Apple share sheet when a user chooses to share an achievement.

Apple handles information processed through these services under Apple's terms and privacy practices.

User-directed sharing

Fast From creates an achievement image and caption after the user selects Share achievement. Shared achievement content excludes the user's Reason, reflection response, and selected apps, categories, and websites.

The user chooses the destination through Apple's share sheet. The selected destination receives the shared content under that destination's privacy practices.

Retention

Fast From retains device-local records as follows:

  • fast history retains the newest 50 entries;
  • recurring schedules remain until the user changes or removes them;
  • active-fast and completion records remain for the time needed to operate and reconcile the fast; and
  • preferences, achievements, accountability settings, and other app records remain until the user changes them or deletes Fast From.

Deletion and Apple backups

Deleting Fast From from an Apple device removes the app and its locally stored data from that device. Apple manages copies held in iCloud Backup, device backups, and device transfers under the user's Apple settings and Apple's privacy practices.

Optional Reason and Washington consumers

The optional Reason field stores text entered by the user on the user's Apple device. A user may choose to enter health-related information in that field.

The Fast From Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy provides Washington-specific disclosures and the applicable request and appeal process.

Policy changes

JonWard.IO LLC will publish the revised policy and its new effective date before a new app data practice becomes active.
